摘要: Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is considered primarily a limbic disorder. Our purpose was to map network organization in TLE and statistically relate it neocortical atrophy. We performed MRI-based cortical thickness analysis 110 patients (including 68 with hippocampal atrophy 42 normal volume) 46 healthy controls. Limbic connectivity inferred by correlating mean of the entorhinal cortex (EC) at each vertex across entire neocortex. The EC chosen as seed region since link between neocortex formation. Patients showed thinning mainly temporal fronto-central neocortices, prevalence up 35%. In controls, networks corresponded closely known anatomical connections. pattern correlations similar suggesting that pathological processes affect same co-vary brain. Nevertheless, we found decreases increases orbitofrontal cortices. Although our indicated alterations temporo-limbic TLE, there no association mesiotemporal surface. This divergence underlines complexity pathophysiological mechanisms leading TLE.
