摘要: Abstract Bioenergy buffers are linear landscape elements cultivated with perennial herbaceous or woody biomass crops placed along arable field margins and watercourses. This systematic review evaluates the potential impact of bioenergy on multiple ecosystem services (ES) provision while describing key factors supply chain. An Impact Assessment (IA) methodology was adopted to capture direction level confidence ES including regulating (climate, water biodiversity), supporting (soil health) provisioning (biomass energy yield). The IA revealed that implementation previous croplands rather than grasslands sustains long-term such as climate, quality biodiversity regulation soil health. Herbaceous were found be more effective in ES. Knowledge gaps relative climate identified for establishment phase (0-3y). Regarding logistics, limited operating space farm machinery main shortcoming when comparing large-scale plantations. intra- inter-farm spatial fragmentation areas may increase environmental costs related collection transport operations, but this has not yet been fully tested. Establishing a network increases connectivity overall area agricultural landscape. Payments obtained from can ultimately improve economics sustainable help achieving goals EU policies water, protection.
