摘要: Neural-network oscillations at distinct frequencies have been implicated in the encoding, consolidation and retrieval of information hippocampus. Some GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid)-containing interneurons fire phase-locked to theta (4-8 Hz) or sharp-wave-associated ripple (120-200 Hz), which represent different behavioural states. Interneurons also entrain pyramidal cells vitro. The large diversity poses question whether they specific roles shaping network activities vivo. Here we report that three interneuron types--basket, axo-axonic oriens-lacunosum-moleculare cells--visualized defined by synaptic connectivity as well neurochemical markers, contribute differentially anaesthetized rats. firing patterns individual same class are remarkably stereotyped provide unique signatures for each class. We conclude interneurons, innervating domains cells, emerged coordinate activity a temporally brain-state-dependent manner.
