摘要: Mammea longifolia buds (nagkesar) are extensively used in India as a minor spice. The antioxidant activity of its methanol (NM) and aqueous-ethanol (NW) extracts were evaluated by several vitro experiments, e.g., DPPH, hydroxyl, superoxide radicals H2O2-scavenging assays well inhibition Fe(II)-induced lipid peroxidation rat liver mitochondria. found to possess impressive all the tests, NW being higher than that NM most assays. differential activities could be correlated with their respective total phenolic, flavonoid proanthocyanidin contents.
