摘要: Phylodiversity measures summarise the phylogenetic diversity patterns of groups organisms. By using branches tree life, rather than its tips (e.g., species), phylodiversity provide important additional information about biodiversity that can improve conservation policy and outcomes. As a biodiverse nation with strong legislative framework, Australia provides an opportunity to use inform decision-making. We explored application across focus on two highly regions, south west Western (SWWA) South East Queensland bioregion (SEQ). We analysed seven diverse organisms spanning five separate phyla evolutionary plant genera Acacia Daviesia, mammals, hylid frogs, myobatrachid passerine birds, camaenid land snails. measured species richness, weighted endemism (WE) measures, (PD) (PE), as well their respective complementarity scores (a measure gains losses) at 20 km resolution. Higher PD was identified within SEQ for all fauna groups, whereas more found in SWWA both groups. were strongly correlated richness most but less so plants. PE complement traditional species-based studied: follow similar spatial WE, highlighted different areas would not be by conventional analyses alone. The particularly novel complementary considered here, enhance protection history contributes present day values areas. Phylogenetic include elements planning, such potential feature will decision-making lead better
