摘要: In small animal practice, prostatic diseases are increasingly encountered. All dogs may experience disease, but particular care should be addressed to breeding dogs, in which affection lead decrease semen quality and fertility. The most common disease is the benign hyperplasia (BPH) followed by prostatitis, neoplasia prostate squamous metaplasia. These do not have pathognomonic symptoms, therefore, making a correct diagnosis easy. An accurate clinical examination diagnostic protocol essential order begin appropriate treatment, also good prophylaxis where it possible. BPH therapy usually recommended when mild-severe signs present or if symptoms disturb patient. New therapeutic approaches, both medical surgical, allow maintain fertility animals with disorders. Prostate cancer relatively infrequent. Elective surgical one, considered palliative can result important post-operative complications. aim of this paper lay down process describing aetiologies their right investigative tools therapy.
