Prevalence of sleep apnea syndrome among patients with essential hypertension

摘要: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) among patients with essential hypertension. Sixteen 50 hypertension were suspected having SAS based on their responses a questionnaire. Whole-night polysomnographic recordings revealed that 11 16 patients, which is 22% initial sample, had as defined by occurrence at least 10 apneas lasting seconds each per hour polygraphically sleep. preponderant finding in group indicates possibility should be taken into consideration clinical evaluation these patients.
