摘要: Background: Oral health professionals are responsible in Iran for providing a brief tobacco cessation program to smoker patients. The aim of this study was assess Iranian dental student and dentist practice, knowledge attitudes toward smoking programs. Materials Methods: A valid reliable self-administered questionnaire designed distributed 150 dentists working Isfahan-Iran 60 students. Some questions were developed based on the expected 5A protocol. Statements focused professional responsibility towards its effectiveness. Chi-square, ANOVA, t test used statistical analysis. Results: settings covers small group patients (18%). 69.1% (n=96) reported asking their about use, 64% (n=83) advising quit, 33.8% (n=47) assessing willingness quit 20% (n=28) helping changing behavior. far lower percentage active involvement arranging assistance smokers (4.3%, n=5). 22% students 26% disagreed that programs should be as part dentists’ 70% them willing follow protocol Conclusions: performance regarding is weak.
