Purification and characterization of two hemolysins from Stichodactyla helianthus

摘要: Two hemolysins, Sticholysin I (St I) and II II) were purified from the sea anemone Stichodactyla helianthus combining gel filtration ion exchange chromatography. The amino acid composition of both cytolysins was determined revealing a high proportion glycine, lysine, tyrosine non-polar acids (alanine, leucine valine). Cysteine not found in either polypeptide. Molecular masses St 19401 19290 Da, respectively. N-terminal sequence analysis showed homology between them suggesting they are isoforms same cytolysin. Compared with other cytolysins, contain 22 insertion fragment also present Eq T II/Tn C probably CaT Hm absent III, major hemolysin previously reported this anemone.
