摘要: The data gaps in the Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) Scan Line Corrector (SLC)-off imagery as a result of SLC failure are well recognized. degradation introduced by their use scientific applications is concerning to users. SLC-off cause problems many ETM+ images, but no literature reported problem seagrass mapping. To investigate impact loss on information extraction, two types were compared: (a) with interpolation after anomaly, termed “Interpolation ON (ION)”, and (b) without interpolation, OFF (IOFF)” image, for Sungai Pulai estuary meadows Malaysia. Additionally, random shifting stripes was tested swipe analysis image pairs. Overall, scene suggests that gradual increase from central part toward edge may cumulative error 2 % based an object’s distance nadir path. be completely invisible if single stripe passes over targeted small meadow such Tanjung Adang Laut shoal, which has spatial extent 11.07 ha. eventually lead misinterpretations produce erroneous distribution maps. co-existence phenomenon have caused non-overlapping regions between scenes acquired different dates. Future research should develop suitable methods gap-filling resolve aquatic remote sensing mapping issues using knowledge present research.
