摘要: Developing trigeminal neurons chemotropically grow towards maxillary and mandibular targets under in vitro conditions but vivo data support is lacking. The present study was designed to investigate if nerve outgrowth target dependent. Targets of the ganglion, processes, were removed chicken embryos by electrocauterization before their innervation neurons. Nerve patterns analyzed immunohistochemically on tissue sections immediately after operation at 24, 48 80 hours post-operation. Trigeminal extended axons a normal pattern even when peripheral tissues or absent. In those where complete removal achieved, major divisions from ganglion grew out followed aberrant courses. When processes maximally, again formed along proximal part course. these reduced still visible, trunks considerable distance; they failed form terminal arbors did not make contact with though an epithelial covering had regenerated. appear regulate fine-tuning for branch formation synapse are already vicinity initial may be target-independent.
