摘要: Urine from the buffalo, Syncerus caffer, a natural host of tsetse, has been shown previously to be potent olfactory attractant for tsetse in field. The compounds have found extractable into dichloromethane. Fractionation extracts by liquid flash chromatography yielded four fractions one which gave seven-fold increase trap catches field compared control traps. Gas chromatographic and gas chromatography-mass spectrometric analysis this fraction revealed presence seven simple phenols including phenol itself.
