摘要: Interest in the metabolic fate of compounds foreign to body (xenobiotics) has intensified dramatically during past decade. Research efforts are derived today from a variety disciplines and any attempt review entire field is likely require “team experts.” Fortunately, number books that cover various aspects drug metabolism have appeared recently. The most chemically oriented Testa Jenner monograph (1976), which provides an excellent description biotransformation processes with much fine molecular detail. Chemical Society, London, publishes good series entitled “Foreign Compound Metabolism Mammals” (Hathway, 1975). A bibliographic survey, “The Fate Drugs Organism” (Hirtz, 1976), recorded 9000 references (through about 1972) dealing metabolism. Two textbook-type publications (Goldstein et al., 1974; La Du 1971) mainly concerned mechanism action small molecules. more traditional textbooks medicinal chemistry contain chapters on (McMahon, 1970; Daniels Jorgensen, 1977). Biologically material will be found “Concepts Biochemical Pharmacology,” particularly Part 2 (Brodie Gillette, 3 (Gillette Mitchell, proceedings symposia provide first-rate discussions specific topics. symposium focus vitro microsomal oxidations (Estabrook 1973a; Gillette 1969).
