摘要: Porous weathered rock can play an important role in storing water and nutrients that are accessible to plants microbes, especially thin or skeletal soils. The objectives of this study were measure the rate porosity development granitic fragments determine how pore morphology changes with time. Total characteristics measured on granodiorite clasts soils Bishop Creek moraines, eastern Sierra Nevada, California. formed a chronosequence; soil surface age represented weathering time for clasts. Clast was estimated form at 0.10% per thousand years. Pores dominantly inter- intramineral planar voids by stress fracturing induced through biotite expansion. Granodiorite older moraines had greater total porosity, microporosity, connectivity pores, increasing potential movement storage ease root mycorrhizal penetration. Roots clay films observed pores inside indicate from into most have significant contributes ecosystem functions regolith.
