摘要: Background and aims Dentin hypersensitivity is a frequent oral condition among patients suffering from gingival recession. Recent studies have suggested that photobiomodulation has the potential to reduce inflammation relieve pain. The present study assess effectiveness of new design toothbrush with specific irradiation parameters as homecare device in treating dentin compare its therapeutic effect fluoride varnish. Materials methods Thirty recession were selected randomly assigned three groups equal size: varnish, photobiomodulation, combination. pain measured using visual analog scale (VAS) by two distinct tests: contact test periodontal probe air blast on areas denuded root; once at baseline again one month after initial application treatments. Laser was carried out wavelength 660 nm CW an output power 40 mW for 30 seconds per spot (1.2 J spot, 6 J/cm2 energy density, 200 mW/cm2 density), perpendicularly root surfaces non-contact mode. Results A significant reduction observed all groups. However, significantly greater combination group. Conclusion At-home treatment convenient, safe, effective method management hypersensitivity.
