摘要: In pediatric age group, rectal bleeding is both common and distressing. Unlike in adults, very few studies comparing diagnostic efficacy of double contrast barium enema (DCBE) Colonoscopy are available children. A prospective study was performed to compare the accuracy high quality DCBE against colonoscopy children with overt bleeding. Fourty four underwent flexible independently. The final diagnosis made after considering all investigations. Against this gold standard, sensitivity specificity were 66.66% 100% while that 74.35% respectively. When assessing polypoidal lesions colon, yield 86.20% as compared 72.41% colonoscopy. colitis cases, similar figures for endoscopy 53.84% 76.92% observed differences statistically insignificant. No significant preparation, premedication or procedure related complications encountered. thus highlights utility complementary role evaluation
