摘要: Seven and a half years of TOPEX/Poseidon satellite altimetry data are used to determine series some 300 sea surface height models. The analysed taken characterize the variability in Caribbean Sea. Harmonic analysis is estimate amplitudes phases seasonal oscillations. Mean annual rates change zonal as well ‘global’ mean values level indicate areas time periods with anomalous evolution. first modes Principal Component Analysis identifies a-periodic variability, particular an interannual low frequency oscillation small area strongest eddy activity south Jamaica. Alongitude/time plot at 15°N shows that levelanomalies propagate westward speed 12–15 cm/s.
