摘要: To study the effect of water quality and operating parameters on membrane fouling, a comparative analysis wastewater (WW) seawater (SW) fouled reverse osmosis (RO) membranes was conducted. Membranes were harvested from SWRO WWRO pilot plants located in Vilaseca (East Spain), both using ultrafiltration as pretreatment. The unit fed with Mediterranean operated secondary effluent collected municipal treatment plant. Lead terminal modules autopsied after five months three operation, respectively. Ultrastructural, chemical, microbiological analyses fouling layers performed. Results showed that train had mainly bio/organic at lead position element inorganic element, whereas end elements. In case membranes, Betaproteobacteria major colonizing species; while Ca, S, P present microbial population represented by Alpha Gammaproteobacteria. Fe, S main identified elements layer membranes. These results confirmed RO composition is strongly impacted source quality.
