Some non-fluorescent connections of the nigro-neostriatal dopamine neurones

摘要: This study of the relationships between cells identified by their catecholamine fluorescence and less fortunate neighbours became possible with advent autoradiographic tracing methods. A major output from neostriatum returns to substantia nigra where it fills pars reticulata. Outputs this area are present on both sides brain in thalamus, parts parafascicular, intralaminar, mediodorsal nuclei, superior colliculi deeper layers. Mainly unilateral pathways reach ventromedial nucleus thalamus also pass under lateral part colliculus region pendunculo-pontinus among fibres brachium conjunctivum. The roles those areas transmission basal ganglia motor system animal, however, remain obscure.
