摘要: Today, the concept of approximation in computing is becoming more and a “hot topic” to investigate how systems can be energy efficient, faster, less complex. Intuitively, instead performing exact computations and, consequently, requiring high amount resources, Approximate Computing aims at selectively relaxing specifications, trading accuracy off for efficiency. While gives several promises when looking systems' performance, efficiency complexity, it poses significant challenges regarding design, verification, test in-field reliability systems. This tutorial paper covers these aspects leveraging experience authors field present state-of-the-art solutions apply during different development phases an system.
