摘要: The present study investigated the use of waste non-edible oil cakes (Jatropha, Karanja, Neem and Mahua) as a substrate for growth Paecilomyces variotii dipicolinic acid (DPA) production. Previous researches proved efficacy DPA in suppressing certain pathogens that are deleterious to plants rhizosphere. production was statistical optimized by amending growing media nitrogen sugars (Dextrose, Glucose Lactose) carbon source. Plackett-Burman design (PBD), indicated Jatropha cake, Karanja cake Dextrose were most significant components (p<0.05) further using response surface methodology (RSM). at concentration 12.5 g/l, 4.5g/l 10g/l, respectively, yielded 250 mg/l DPA, which 2.5 fold more than obtained from basal medium. HPLC analysis medium (peak retention time 30 min) confirmed enhanced P. variotii. scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images showed impose stress like condition (due less C:N ratio) fungus generated spores compared source is easily available mycelial growth. antimicrobial activity fungal extract tested found be effective even 10-2 dilution after 72 h against two plant pathogens, Fusarium oxysporum Verticillium dahlia. Statistical experimental this offer an efficient viable approach
