摘要: Erythrocytes infected with the protozoan parasite Plasmodium falciparum, in final stages of asexual development, sequester and adhere to lining capillaries brain; killing 1-3 million (mostly children under age 5) each year. I will argue here that rapidly evolving tools developmental biology be employed find a way inducing gametocytogenesis, thereby making 'grow-up' prematurely, large numbers alleviating severe symptoms brain.
