摘要: At the core of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) debate is level perceived risk involved with extractive industries, such as release toxic and carcinogenic chemicals, increased population growth, truck traffic. However, industry supporters fracking acclaim benefits oil gas drilling, energy independence economic gains. In this study, we examine impacts on community health well-being based interviews anti-fracking activists in Denton, Texas who were active “anti-fracking” organization, Frack Free Denton (FFD). Emergent from interviews, discuss socio-psychological stressors these members experienced following introduction region. Some major included physical risks through anxiety surrounding toxins carcinogens that may be released process.
