Fluorescence line narrowing spectrometry in organic glasses containing parts-per-billion levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

摘要: Preliminary work on the application of this procedure is described. A 1 : glycerol water system containing sample cooled to < 4.2/sup 0/K in a double nested helium Dewar which contains quartz optical windows. control 553 Ar-ion laser used for uv production. Spatial separation lines achieved with external prisms, and detection electronics include photon counting as well conventional analog equipment. comparison line-narrowed fluorescence spectrum pyrene glycerol-ethanol glass at that biphenyl fluorene ca. 10/sup made. Representative spectra anthracene (1.2 ppM), (224 ppB), mixture (100 ppB each), glycerol: are displayed. The authors expect implement method practical analytical tool analysis polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons very low concentrations contaminated samples.
