摘要: The lemA gene of the plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae pv. is required for disease lesion formation on bean plants. Cosmid clones that complemented a mutant in trans were isolated previously. was localized by subcloning and transposon mutagenesis. region flanking DNA sequenced, an open reading frame 2.7 kb identified. nucleotide predicted amino acid sequences showed sequence similarity to family prokaryotic two-component regulatory proteins. Unlike most previously described systems, product contained homology both components one protein. Mutations introduced upstream downstream failed locate second protein component but identified putative cysM P. syringae. located divergently transcribed. expressed at low levels appeared be positively auto-regulated.
