摘要: A total of 17 wild boars (Sus scrofa) shot in the Miechow hunting area (southern Poland) during two consecutive winters 2008, were surveyed for presence lung nematodes genus Metastrongylus. The animals necropsied, their lungs removed, divided into smaller parts and examined along bronchial tubes. parasites found identified based on morphologic characters. prevalence lungworms reached 76.5%, all 13 infected harboured (one boar) or more parasite species. mean number an individual boar was 58.7, ranging from 6 to 250 specimens. Out lungworms, 48.8% as M. pudendotectus, 32.8% elongatus, 14.0% belonged salmi, whereas 4.4% (i.e. 10 females 2 males) asymmetricus. Until recently, only four Metastrongylus species have been recorded Poland, namely salmi confusus. presently reported finding asymmetricus constitutes first record this Poland.
