摘要: In recent years, plant research has received a significant boost, partly due to the huge amount of data derived from sequencing projects some genomes, especially those obtained in model system Arabidopsis thaliana. The use this crucifer many biology laboratories all over world, together with development new technologies, have considerably increased resources for dissecting gene function. Forward and reverse genetic approaches are still fundamental assessing function through isolation characterization mutants. chapter, we first take an overview, using as reference, methodologies procedures used infer plants mutagenesis screens look at how high-throughput analysis gene-indexed mutant collections is contributing on genomic scale. We then discuss forward currently crops understanding function, highlighting importance basis generating useful variants its significance crop improvement.
