摘要: Background In the fight against malaria, discovery of chemical compounds with a novel mode action and/or chemistry distinct from currently used drugs is vital to counteract parasite’s known ability develop drug resistance. Another desirable aspect efficacy gametocytes, sexual developmental stage parasite which enables transmission through Anopheles vectors. Using rescue approach, we previously identified targeting Plasmodium falciparum coenzyme A (CoA) synthesis or utilization, promising target that has not yet been exploited in anti-malarial development.
