摘要: Abstract Exercise can prevent bone loss and increase density. Growth factors such as insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I) transforming factor β (TGFβ) are thought to be involved in the local response mechanical loading, resulting remodelling. We tested effect of additional weight bearing during exercise on systemic IGF-I TGFβ. Thirty-four female Wistar rats (aged 3 months, 226.9±20.2 g) were randomly divided four groups: group 1 baseline controls; 2 sedentary ran 15 min a day motor-driven belt; 4 with backpack containing 40 g. The animals 5 days week, for 6 weeks, an average velocity 16.6±4.4 m/min, slope 5° uphill. serum hormone (GH) concentration was significantly higher running (group 3, P=0.009) than controls 2). IGF binding protein (IGFBP3) levels liver similar all groups. In tibia no significant differences observed IGF-I, IGFBP3 TGFβ concentration. humerus, lower 3) (P=0.04), but it that those without (P=0.009). humerus both (P=0.001) (P=0.03) controls. effects caused by stimulation cannot explained changes produced liver. concentrations appeared modulated exercise.
