摘要: Abstract RGS proteins enhance the time resolution of G protein signaling cascades by accelerating GTP hydrolysis Gα subunits heterotrimeric proteins. RGS9-1, a photoreceptor-specific protein, is first vertebrate member this sizeable family whose physiological function in well-defined pathway has been identified. It essential for normal subsecond recovery kinetics light responses retinal photoreceptors. Understanding role allows RGS9-1 to serve as useful model understanding how specificity and regulation are achieved. In addition catalytic domain, shared among all members family, contains several other domains, which also found closely related subset proteins, RGS9 subfamily. One these γ -like (GGL) identified attachment site β5 act obligate Results from subfamily suggest that achieved cell type-specific transcription, RNA processing, -dependent stabilization. addition, membrane localization via specific targeting domains likely plays an important role.
