摘要: The type VI secretion system (T6SS) is a multiprotein complex widespread in Proteobacteria and dedicated to the delivery of toxins into both prokaryotic eukaryotic cells. It thus participates interbacterial competition as well pathogenesis. T6SS contractile weapon, related injection apparatus tailed bacteriophages. Basically, it assembles an inner tube wrapped by sheath-like structure anchored cell envelope via membrane complex. energy released contraction sheath propels through channel toward target cell. Although assembly mechanism action are conserved across species, repertoire secreted diversity regulatory mechanisms cells make highly versatile system. particularly represented Escherichia coli pathotypes Salmonella serotypes. In this review we summarize current knowledge regarding prevalence, assembly, regulation, roles E. coli, Salmonella, species.
