摘要: Measurements from three classes of direct-drive implosions at the OMEGA laser system [T. R. Boehly et al., Opt. Commun. 133, 495 (1997)] were combined with Monte Carlo simulations to investigate models for determining hot-fuel areal density (ρRhot) in compressed, D2-filled capsules, and assess impact mix other factors on determination ρRhot. The results compared predictions simple, commonly used that use ratios either secondary D3He proton yields or DT neutron primary DD provide estimates ρRhot,2p ρRhot,2n, respectively, For first class implosion, where ρRhot is low (⩽3 mg/cm2), ρRhot,2n often agree each are good actual second order 10 mg/cm2, underestimates value due yield saturation; addition, fuel-shell causes ρRhot,2p...
