摘要: Abstract Two sphingosyl galactolipids, galactocerebroside and mixed gangliosides, two glyceryl mono digalactosyl diglycerides, were compared for immunological activity in liposomal model membranes. The liposomes prepared with one of several synthetic lecithins or beef sphingomyelin. Specific complement-dependent glucose release as was found all cases, although high titer antiserum not obtained against monogalactosyl diglyceride. With galactocerebroside, the degree inversely related to phospholipid fatty acid chain length. relative efficiencies these substances terms antigenic expression and/or immunogenicity order: ganglioside > diglyceride Reciprocal serological cross-reactivity observed between on hand diglycerides other. Cross-reactivity groups occured four out six possible combinations studied. Anti-digalactosyl only anti-serum an apparent specificity it did cross-react either cerebroside ganglioside. influenced by length, antigen concentration antibody immunizing antigen.
