摘要: The social behavior of chimpanzees has been extensively studied, yet not much is known about how they behave in response to the death a group member. Here, we provide detailed report reactions finding dead body 9-year-old male was characterized by quiet attendance and close inspections punctuated rare displays. Moreover, continuously attended closely inspected several adults juveniles, including an adult who formed bond with deceased individual after individual's mother died 4 years earlier. When considered observations respond infants this others, these suggest that chimpanzees' responses may be mediated bonds individual. results are discussed light recent reports on community members more general primate thanatology.
