A simple visual model considered, which defines non -lineartransformation the red, green and blue components into functions are more closely relatedto perceived colored stimuli. The effects transformations on coding efficiency arediscussed, an optimal coder, minimizes average distortion these "perceptual" imagefunctions simulated.
