摘要: Purpose The aim of this report is to provide a detailed description program employing medical students assist with triaging off-hour diagnostic imaging studies at major academic center. Methods Current and former participants the Medical student Emergency Department (ED) Radiology Triage Program were interviewed regarding inception, development, impact program. Student participation triage activities compiled tabulated from scheduling records assistant call logs. Results Opportunities for obtain an intensive, well-organized experience in radiology are often absent or occur relatively late during school, which can be problematic developing basic literacy making timely, well-informed decisions as career path. authors describe that provides rigorous, hands-on early their training by emergency department staff managing workflow. Students work radiologists members answering phone calls help facilitate ordering protocoling dissemination results clinicians. Conclusions employment assistants in-depth exposure clinical while providing effective system streamline workflow attending radiologists, residents, technicians, support members.
