摘要: In the current paper, we argue that categorization and individuation, as traditionally discussed experimentally operationalized, are defined in terms of two confounded underlying dimensions: a person/group dimension memory-based/data-driven dimension. series three experiments, unconfound these dimensions impose cognitive load. Across with laboratory-created targets one participants' friends target, demonstrate load privileges memory-based over data-driven processing, not group- person-level processing. We discuss results their implications for conceptualizations categorization/individuation distinction, equivalence person group processes, ultimate 'purpose' meaningfulness group-based perception and, fundamentally, process categorization, broadly defined.
