Characterization of a 2,3-Butanediol Producing Bacterial Strain and Optimization of Fermentation Medium

摘要: A bacterial strain G12 capable of producing high content 2,3- butanediol (2,3-BD, BD) was isolated from raw milk samples. With the analysis its 16S rRNA gene sequence, identified as Serratia marcescens. Carbon source evaluation experiments showed that with glycerol carbon source, produced relatively amount 2,3-BD and lowest byproduct acetoin among tested sources. Furthermore, optimal fermentation medium determined by single factor orthogonal experimental design, it composed glycerin 130 g/L, peptone 16 yeast extract 5 K2HPO4 1 MnSO4·7H2O 0.025 g/L. Confirmation were also performed. The final yield in shaking-flask up to 37.400 substrate conversion rate 79.62 % theoretical value.
