摘要: Background: Although transesophageal echocardiography is the definitive test for detection of left atrial (LA) appendage thrombus, transthoracic has yet to prove useful determination increased risk LA thrombus formation. The authors hypothesized that higher volume and/or lower ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) might valuable as markers thrombusformation and tested thishypothesis in a consecutive retrospective series patients with fibrillation undergoing both echocardiography. Methods: Three hundred thirty-four were studied. Anticoagulation status, CHADS2scores,and echocardiographic parameterswerecatalogued. Therelationship between thepresence covariates was analyzed using binary logistic regression. Results: detected 52 (15.6%). A CHADS2 score (odds ratio, 1.45; P 55%, indexes < 28 mL/m 2 . ratio LVEF index # 1.5 produced 100% sensitivity presence thrombus. Conclusions: related clinical variables. no single variable discriminated absence normal associated For CHADS2scores 1, systolic function combination may be measure identification at low (J Am Soc Echocardiogr 2011;24:499-505.)
