摘要: Abstract The European AIRUSE LIFE+ project aims at testing existing and future mitigation measures developing new strategies for the improvement of air quality in Southern countries. involves public private institutions Spain, UK, Portugal, Italy Greece. PM10 PM2.5 daily samplings have been scheduled one year (from January 2013) four urban sites, Barcelona (Spain), Porto (Portugal), Athens (Greece), Florence (Italy). data set gives an overall representative picture PM composition these sites. includes also with hourly resolution limited periods. Hourly samples give easier identification different aerosol sources due to capability tracking rapid changes as ones occurring many particulate emissions well atmospheric transport dilution processes. role PIXE technique within has described this paper. comparison obtained by techniques (e.g. PIXE, IC ICP) assured a assurance control on huge quantity project. together those other analytical used reconstruct average chemical Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) analysis determine their impact mass. In particular high sensitivity all crustal elements (including Si which is not easily detected allows direct determination Saharan dust contribution. Finally, 1-h data, can be only confirmed reinforced concentrations.
