摘要: The growing availability of genetic testing in the clinical, research, and direct-to-consumer realms has caused people to fear that they will be discriminated against for their genes. In response, Congress passed Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), which prohibits use information much health insurance employment. Importantly, this prohibition does not apply life, long-term care, disability insurance. While these lines are federally prohibited from using an individual’s information, several states do regulate lines. This paper presents a comprehensive 50-state survey on regulation how insurers can information. Overall, it shows is still relatively unregulated divergent strategies adopted across both weak problematic. Consistent even regulation, whether federal government or through model legislation needed adequately protect families alike.
