摘要: We report the synthesis and physical studies of a liquid crystalline elastomer fiber consisting two side-chain acrylates nonmesogennic comonomer side group that acts as reactive site for cross-linking. The terpolymer was synthesized by radical polymerization, cross-linking network achieved using diisocyanate unit. formed shows good crystal alignment texture under cross-polarizer microscope. Thermoelastic response strain changes through nematic−isotropic phase transition about 30−35%. A retractive force nearly 300 kPa measured in isotropic phase. Static work loop show viscoelastic losses these materials to be very small. also present preliminary on effect doping carbon nanotubes induced at transition.
