摘要: This paper presents a novel approach for estimating the shortest Euclidean distance from given point to corresponding implicit quadric fitting surface. It first estimates orthogonal orientation surface point; then is directly estimated by intersecting with line passing through according orientation. The proposed estimation easily obtained without increasing computational complexity; hence it can be used in error minimization frameworks. Comparisons of metric previous approaches are provided show both improvements CPU time as well accuracy results. Surfaces fitted using geometric and state art metrics presented viability approach.
