Satisfaction with the treatment, confidence and ‘naturalness’ in engaging in sexual activity in men with psychogenic erectile dysfunction: preliminary results of a randomized controlled trial of three therapeutic approaches

Studies erectile dysfunction (ED) are often criticized for providing only clinical data remission ED symptomatology. This is first controlled trial comparing satisfaction, confidence naturalness in engaging sexual activity with three therapeutic approaches psychogenic ED. OBJECTIVE •  To assess efficacy group psychotherapy (GTP) and/or sildenafil (ED). PATIENTS AND METHODS •  A randomized single-blind was performed at Institute Psychiatry Medical School Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil. •  In all, 30 men mild moderate were to receive 6 months: GPT plus 50 mg on-demand, or on-demand exclusively, exclusively. •  Changes score from baseline questions Erectile Dysfunction Inventory Treatment Satisfaction (EDITS) evaluated endpoint after 3-months follow-up. RESULTS •  Satisfaction treatment, ‘naturalness’ increased exclusively groups (P= 0.001) endpoint. •  The treatment-by-time comparison not significant vs 3-month follow-up, groups. •  There no difference periods (P > 0.05) CONCLUSION •  Men had higher treatment when receiving GP compared as assessed by these EDITS 6-months treatment.
