摘要: Abstract Sargassum hemiphyllum is a common species in many countries of the world. Its culture both economically and ecologically important. Ulva prolifera an annoying macro-epiphyte during seedling cultivation S. becomes bottleneck for successful production seedlings. The present study aimed to develop effective control method U. prolifera. performances two macroalgae cultivated under co-culture mono-culture mode using NO3− or NH4+ as nitrogen resource were evaluated test whether could be inhibited through manipulation availability. Increasing concentrations accelerated growth tissue N accumulation better than hemiphyllum. However, maximum rate at infinite contents was about 70% higher that hemiphyllum, critical content (NC) twice indicating risk limitation In mode, when with 5 10 μM 5 μM NH4+, comparable its NC, whereas much lower NC; rate, chlorophyll soluble protein corresponding values mode. inhibition effect on highest medium NO3−. This suggested competitive advantage epiphytic can some extent mitigated by manipulating availability medium. We recommend resource, set concentration approximately 5–10 μM
