摘要: At date the major neuroreceptors i.e. gamma-aminobutyric acid{sub A} (GABA{sub A}R) and orexin (ORXR) systems are beginning to be linked homeostasis, neuroendocrine emotional states. In this study, intraperitoneal treatment of marine teleost Thalassoma pavo with highly selective GABA{sub A}R agonist (muscimol, MUS; 0,1 mug/g body weight) and/or its antagonist bicuculline (BIC; 1 have corroborated a A}ergic role on motor behaviors. particular, MUS induced moderate (p < 0.05) great 0.01) increases swimming towards food sources resting states after 24 (1 dose) 96 (4 doses) h sessions, respectively, when compared controls. Conversely, BIC caused very strong 0.001) reduction former behavior in some cases convulsive swimming. From correlation BIC-dependent behavioral changes neuronal morphological ORXR transcriptional variations, it appeared that disinhibitory action was likely responsible for mRNA reductions cerebellum valvula torus longitudinalis, respectively. Moreover these effects were evident ultra-structural such as shrunken cell membranes loss cytoplasmic architecture. contrast, supplied low, if any, argyrophilic reaction hypothalamicmore » mesencephalic regions plus scarce level damages. Interestingly, combined administrations + not related consistent damages, aside mild alterations motor-related areas optic tectum. Overall is tempting suggest, first time, neuroprotective inhibitory actions against overexcitatory ORXR-dependent neurodegeneration consequently abnormal events fish.« less
