摘要: Objectives-This report expands the measures used to evaluate cause-of-death data quality by presenting a novel list of unsuitable underlying causes death (UCOD). This is intended facilitate measurement reporting medical certifiers in terms completeness, as assessed UCOD that sufficiently specific. Methods-A codes from International Statistical Classification Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th Revision was developed classify UCODs defined according three main subtypes: unknown ill-defined causes, immediate intermediate nonspecific UCODs. Unsuitable subtypes were examined using 2018 certificate for both U.S. residents nonresidents 50 states District Columbia. Differences frequency tested age group, place death, state occurrence. Trends also investigated analyzing 2010 2018. Results-In 2018, 34.7% all records had an UCOD: 2.2% or cause UCOD, 12.7% 19.8% UCOD. varied state, year. No trend 2013 seen, but decrease 0.6% per year observed, which likely due similar during same time period. Conclusion-This can be assess over other various characteristics, with further applications efforts improve mortality quality.
