Tears of the anterior cruciate ligament in adolescents.

摘要: Tears of the anterior cruciate ligament in adolescents are rare. From 1977 to 1983 we did a surgical reconstruction that ligament, using semitendinosus and gracilis tendons, twenty-four athletes who were twelve fifteen years old. We routinely supplemented procedure with Ellison or Losee extra-articular reconstruction. The length follow-up averaged thirty-five months. There sixteen excellent, seven good, one fair-plus result. Only patient showed significant growth abnormality. Use tendons not significantly decrease strength flexion internal rotation as measured by Cybex-II dynamometer.
