摘要: The reduced muscle mass and impaired performance that define sarcopenia in older individuals are associated with increased risk of physical limitation a variety chronic diseases. They may also contribute to clinical frailty. A gradual erosion quality life (QoL) has been evidenced these individuals, although much this research done using generic QoL instruments, particularly the SF-36, which not be ideal populations significant comorbidities. This review report an expert meeting presents current definitions geriatric syndromes (sarcopenia frailty). It then briefly summarizes concepts specificities examines relevant domains what is known concerning decline conditions. calls for clearer definition construct disability, argues disease-specific instrument sarcopenia/frailty would asset future research, discusses whether there available validated components could used end psychometric properties instruments sufficiently tested. approach utility weighting provide some cost estimates suggests time trade-off study appropriate.
