摘要: 1 * Abstract: Best management practices (BMPs) are the most cost-effective means of mitigating negative impacts pond aquaculture on environment. The BMPs and other innovations fish farm profits have been studied widely. This study estimates BMP adoption social welfare. We employed economic surplus model to determine net present value (NPV) adopting more expensive but less polluting commercial floating feed in culture Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) Ghana. also conducted a sensitivity analysis which variables had greatest influence mean NPV. Our results indicate an NPV US$ 11 million from farming alone with biggest were level change yield, production costs, new type. conclude that yield-enhancing Ghana will result significant welfare benefits. recom- mend credit programs financial packages be set up by governments or nongovernmental organizations help farmers meet increased cost accelerate diffusion farming.
